Wynn Unveils Name, Schedule for $3.9 billion Casino Resort in the UAE

New information regarding Wynn Resorts' upcoming casino resort on Al-Marjan Island in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) has been released. The project will cost $1.2 billion more than Wynn Las Vegas, which just celebrated its 18th anniversary, coming in at $3.9 billion.
Wynn included several conceptual illustrations of the building in the announcement. The property's official name has also been revealed by the Las Vegas-based casino operator: Wynn Al Marjan Island.

Wynn reaffirmed that the integrated resort will debut early in 2027 and that construction will run about $3.9 billion. The property has been under construction for several weeks.

One of the biggest gaming complexes in the entire world is what Wynn Al Marjan Island is intended to be. The building will have resort amenities, a 500-room hotel with suites, 24 restaurants, and all with ocean views. A 1,000-foot-tall tower and several beachfront villas will also be on the property.

On the project, Wynn is collaborating with RAK Hospitality Holding LLC, a regional hotel developer, and it is anticipated that the US company will hold a stake of about a third. Analysts previously predicted the UAE property would cost $2 billion.

Adapting to Culture

Ras Al Khaimah is one of the factors contributing to the UAE's popularity as one of the top MENA (Middle East/North Africa) tourist destinations.

Due to the saturation of Las Vegas, Macau, and Singapore, international casino operators are searching for new growth opportunities both domestically and abroad. By launching Wynn Al Marjan Island, the operator is outpacing rivals in forging a presence in untapped markets.

For Wynn and the entire global gaming industry, the Wynn Al Marjan Island may change everything. The project from the UAE helps to diversify a portfolio that is largely reliant on Macau.

If gaming is a success in Ras Al Khaimah, other emirates may think about easing restrictions. Caesars Entertainment and MGM Resorts International, who are both building non-gaming hotels in the UAE, may benefit from this.

Wynn's five integrated resorts are among the most opulent in the world in the US and Macau, and they have the awards to prove it. Given the fierce competition in Al Marjan Island, Wynn Al Marjan Island will uphold this tradition.

According to the statement, "Al Marjan Island is today seamlessly transitioning into a world-class resort destination with a rapidly expanding portfolio of luxury five-star hotels and residential developments that offer a wide range of amenities and services and boasting over 7.8 kilometers of sparkling beaches and twenty-three kilometers of waterfront."
