Caesars Virginia Has 650 Jobs to Fill Before Permanent Resort Opens

This week, Caesars Virginia in Danville verified that the permanent resort's construction is proceeding according to plan and that the popular entertainment destination will open before the year ends.

Ray Dunkle, the lottery's director of gaming operations, said last week's Virginia Lottery board meeting that work at the Danville construction site is proceeding quickly.

"Construction is moving great. It looks significantly different,” Dunkle explained in his update. “They’re looking to open in the fourth quarter.”

On the site of the former textile campus of Dan River Inc., which powered Danville's economy for almost a century before being acquired by an Indian conglomerate in 2006 and having its operations relocated abroad, Caesars Virginia is being constructed. To honor the property's historical origins, the integrated resort casino has kept the famous "Three Sisters" smokestacks from the factory grounds.

Danville is situated not far north of the border with North Carolina. Throughout its history, the city's economy has been mostly dependent on tobacco production, in addition to its historic textile sector. Before the Confederacy's Civil War surrender, this region served as its third and last capital.

Employees Needed

Caesars Virginia is slated to open later this year and have 320 rooms in addition to a casino floor with over 1,300 slot machines, 24 electronic table games, 85 live dealer table games, a Caesars Sportsbook, and a World Series of Poker Room. A 2,500-seat live music theater, an outdoor pool, 50,000 square feet of meeting and convention space, and an array of food and beverage options are just a few of the resort's facilities.

Caesars Entertainment claims it needs more than 650 employees to staff such an enterprise. Tuesday till 3 p.m., Caesars Virginia is having a job fair at the Bryan Park Conference Center in Browns Summit.

People who are underemployed or jobless are welcome to attend the job fair in order to gain more knowledge about the variety of positions that Caesars Virginia needs to fill. Table game dealers, pit managers and supervisors, social media and PR experts, slot attendants, kitchen and wait personnel, HVAC technicians, and electricians are among the positions that are open.

The resort's temporary pavilion tent casino now employs about 430 team members; the 650 roles are an expansion to that number. There are 36 table games and 826 slots in the temporary gaming area. In June, the casino brought in $19.2 million in gross gaming revenue.

Changes at the Casino

Caesars promised to hire 1,300 workers when it was vying to work with Danville on a casino project that the community approved in the 2020 election. Since then, the casino operator has filed an appeal and been granted permission by the Danville City Council to change the terms of operation so that a minimum of 900 workers will be employed.

In addition, Caesars reduced the amount of hotel rooms from the 500 that had been promised to 320. Inflation-driven increases in labor and material prices led to the adjustment.

Caesars, a firm located in Las Vegas, promised to invest $500 million in order to bring its Virginia resort to fruition after Danville selected them as its gaming partner. Since then, the budget has grown to 750 million dollars.

Caesars was expected to construct a minimum of 300 hotel rooms with a four-star rating or better as part of the terms of the city's original development agreement.

Promoted Casinos

A fantastic way for players to increase their bankroll is through an online casino promotion. In contrast to physical casinos, an online casino will never ask you to make a deposit in order to receive your bonus. You will therefore always have the choice to play for free. Some online casinos even link their promotion to a specific slot machine, allowing you to play on that machine and potentially win big.
It is best to carefully read the terms and conditions before you begin playing to determine whether the promotion is worthwhile taking a chance on.
