Casino Crime Round Up: Two Red Rock Employees Stabbed, Suspect Shot

A lone man stabbed two employees at Red Rock Casino Resort & Spa in Las Vegas early on Saturday, according to press sources. They suffered serious injuries.

The New York Post claims that Red Rock security guards then shot the stabber at the crime scene. 

After being taken to University Medical Center (UMC), the victims allegedly received life-threatening medical attention. The suspect was hurt as well, and he was brought to UMC for emergency care.

Regarding the three patients' injuries, no information was given. It was thought that all three were still alive as of Saturday morning.

“I was there,” one unnamed witness was quoted by Vital Vegas after the attack. “Had stuck around after concert.”

"Security ran by not far from me chasing someone, and then you heard the shot fired. People scattered everywhere. I dove behind a machine. Whoever was shot [,] was down near the entrance to Lucky Penny.”

Shortly after one in the morning on Saturday, members of the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department (LVMPD) were notified of the violent event. Several policemen arrived to the casino.

It seemed to be a singular occurrence. There was no danger to the general population. The casino was still operational.

Officers from the LVMPD are probably looking over CCTV footage from the casino to look into the stabbing. They also conducted a physical evidence and witness search of the area.

Reason Unknown

Why the perpetrator stabbed the two employees is yet unknown. It's unknown if the suspect attacked the victims with a knife or another kind of weapon.

LVMPD officers withheld the identities of the suspect and two workers.

Red Rock is situated close to Route 215 off of Charleston Boulevard.

Downtown Conflict, Shots Heard

According to an LVMPD post on X, the previous Twitter platform, gunfire was heard early on Saturday morning in Downtown Las Vegas, close to Fremont and Main streets.

As of five in the morning, two groups of people were seen fighting. No injuries had been reported as of early Saturday.

According to Las Vegas TV station KSNV, the event happened in the 100 block of Fremont Street, close to Charleston Boulevard and Eastern Avenue. Not far away is the Fremont Street Experience.

Many suspects were taken into custody. The individuals' identities and the charges were kept a secret.

The LVMPD did not give any information.

As of early Saturday morning, LVMPD investigators were still looking into the event.

The fight scene is not far from any number of casinos.
