This week, the Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority (LVCVA) published its 2024 Visitor Profile Study for Las Vegas. The information indicates that almost all guests in Southern Nevada last year were pleased with their experience.
Jump onto social media and browse well-known Vegas-related accounts such as Casino.org’s Scott Roeben, the Strip expert behind the Vital Vegas account, and you will swiftly encounter views suggesting that Las Vegas has turned away from its main audience. Whether it’s resort charges, parking costs, $25 drinks, elevated table minimums, low slot payouts, 6:5 blackjack, or double-zero roulette, frustration appears to be at a tipping point.
The yearly LVCVA visitor survey contradicts those assertions and indicates that almost all tourists and convention attendees from last year departed satisfied. The visitor profile indicates that almost nine out of ten (87%) guests were “very satisfied,” while an additional 10% were “somewhat satisfied.” Only 2% reported that they departed feeling “dissatisfied.”
Se dice que Las Vegas ha mantenido también su base fundamental. The study revealed that 86% of the 41.7 million individuals who traveled to Sin City last year had previously visited. While the LVCVA framed this positively by indicating that Southern Nevada entices “visitors to return,” it may also imply the market isn't drawing in fresh audiences.
Only 14% of the 41.7 million individuals who visited Las Vegas last year were newcomers. That reflects a 10% decrease from 2019.
Nevada's gaming revenue hit a record high for the fourth straight year, as losses for gamblers in 2024 exceeded $15.6 billion. Gross gaming revenue on the Strip, however, decreased by 1% from 2023, even though total visitation rose by over 2%.
Representatives from the LVCVA, the governmental organization responsible for marketing the area for both tourism and business, understandably depicted 2024 in a favorable light.
"Nearly all visitors were satisfied with their visit, and even more than in past years were likely to say that Las Vegas significantly exceeded their expectations,” the LVCVA declared.
In 2024, visitors stayed a bit longer, spent more on accommodations, meals, beverages, and shopping, and the average age decreased from nearly 44 years in 2023 to 43.6 last year.
The yearly report is created based on “visitor surveys” carried out both in-person and online. The LVCVA asserts it conducted around 300 in-person interviews each month and 150 online. The 2024 visitor profile was derived from the experiences of under 5,500 guests in total.
The 2024 Visitor Profile revealed that visitors who gambled dedicated less time to it — approximately 2.5 hours daily, which is a reduction of thirty minutes from 2021. This might be due to their losses accumulating faster, with gambling losses per trip hitting an all-time high of $820 last year, a significant increase from $591 in 2019, marking the fourth consecutive year of record gaming expenditures.
The typical visitor spent $615 on food and beverages, $281 on shopping, and $160 on local transport — all of which reflect year-over-year growth. Expenditure on entertainment and shows, on the other hand, fell by 42% to only $63. Average expenditure on sports dropped by 17%.
Regarding rooms, the typical nightly price (not including complimentary rooms) was $179, a 4% increase.
A fantastic way for players to increase their bankroll is through an online casino promotion. In contrast to physical casinos, an online casino will never ask you to make a deposit in order to receive your bonus. You will therefore always have the choice to play for free. Some online casinos even link their promotion to a specific slot machine, allowing you to play on that machine and potentially win big.
It is best to carefully read the terms and conditions before you begin playing to determine whether the promotion is worthwhile taking a chance on.
