Man Found Asleep At Las Vegas Casino Slot Machine Charged With DUI

A guy has been accused of driving under the influence and other offenses after he was discovered unconscious while seated at a slot machine in a casino in Las Vegas.

Around 11:45 p.m. local time on Tuesday, a car struck a Nevada State Police Highway Patrol unit in Las Vegas.  When the collision happened, the state police officer was inside the car looking into a different auto accident.

The car that collided with the police cruiser ran away.  After being hurt, the policeman was sent to a local hospital.

The collision happened close to the 215 Beltway on the southbound lane of Interstate 15.  About 20 minutes after the incident, Nevada police reported that they had found the suspected car at the Silverton Casino.

The owner of the car, Mark Guyot, 51, was discovered by police inside the casino, which is just a short drive south on I-15 at Exit 33.  According to charging documents, Guyot was seen dozing off at a gambling machine.

Several Charges

Police assumed Guyot was drunk when he was apprehended.  A search of his car revealed two empty whiskey bottles and a strong alcohol odor.

Guyot was later taken into custody and charged with hit-and-run, failing to perform duties when approaching a traffic accident, and driving under the influence (DUI) of alcohol resulting in significant bodily harm.

State police officers wrote that Guyot, upon being woken, had slurred speech, bloodshot and watery eyes, and admitted to knowing that he had “hit something.” He insisted, however, that leaving the scene “was the right thing to do.”

The complaint claims that before heading south, Guyot acknowledged consuming three whiskey drinks at a bar in downtown Las Vegas.  According to authorities, he consented to take sobriety tests, which he failed.

He was taken to the Clark County Detention Center for two blood draws after refusing to take a breathalyzer.  In two weeks, his blood results should be available.

Guyot posted bail of $100,000.  His court date is Monday, August 18.

A DUI conviction with significant bodily harm carries a sentence of two to twenty years in jail and a fine of $2,000 to $5,000.  Fractures, sutured wounds, organ damage, paralysis, burns, permanent cosmetic damage, unconsciousness, and chronic discomfort are examples of substantial bodily harm.

Since leaving the hospital, the Nevada State Police Highway Patrol officer is anticipated to make a full recovery.

Casinos are suspected of being clients

According to a Las Vegas internet search, Mark Guyot is a father of four and a video producer and director.  Guyot claims to be capable of managing branding and advertising, social media creation, company video portfolios, and live event services.

Guyot cites MGM Resorts as one of his clients on his business website.  MGM runs more casinos on the Las Vegas Strip than any other firm and is the biggest employer in Nevada.

Promoted Casinos

A fantastic way for players to increase their bankroll is through an online casino promotion. In contrast to physical casinos, an online casino will never ask you to make a deposit in order to receive your bonus. You will therefore always have the choice to play for free. Some online casinos even link their promotion to a specific slot machine, allowing you to play on that machine and potentially win big.
It is best to carefully read the terms and conditions before you begin playing to determine whether the promotion is worthwhile taking a chance on.
