Basic Rules for Poker

A standard 52-card deck of cards is used in every poker game. The cards are ranked in decreasing order from Ace, King, Queen, Jack, and 10 through Two. In a sequence, a card with a lower rank than a Two may also be used, such as an Ace.

Order of Hands

At the showdown, a poker hand is made up of your top five cards, ranked highest to lowest as follows:

• Royal Flush
• Straight Flush
• Four-of-a-Kind
• Full House
• Flush
• Straight
• Three-of-a-Kind
• Two Pair
• One Pair
• High Card

Hold'em

In the poker game of hold'em, each player starts with a hand of two cards. To create the best five-card poker hand, each player will combine their two hole cards with the five community cards.

Hi-lo Omaha

Omaha Each player's initial hand in the poker game known as "Hi-lo" is made up of four cards. Each player MUST form the best five-card poker hand as well as the best five-card low hand using a specific combination of five cards, including any two from their hand and any three from the board (community cards).
